All the water falling down from the sky makes Horseshoe Lake a wet site; May is when you get the most rain here, and January on the other hand is the driest. Throughout the warm months at Horseshoe Lake highs are mostly in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. Highs all through the winter are usually in the 40's, and overnight lows at Horseshoe Lake through the wintertime ordinarily fall into the       20's. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Horseshoe Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Bear Branch Campground is a splendid place for that; after a long day outdoors Michael's Motel is a fine place to spend a night or two. There are some nice whitewater spots on Bear Branch. A good view of picturesque Herman Hill is available from Horseshoe Lake; the River to River Trail offers hiking at its best. Smithland Lock One Dam is                  stunning and it's right next door to Horseshoe Lake, and do have a look at Big Grand Pierre Creek while you're here at Horseshoe Lake. Stay the night at Steamboat Hill Campground; if you need a place to stay Rose Hotel is a tremendous choice. But wait, there's more to do next to Horseshoe Lake.
