If you came for an overnight stay Condit's Ranch is a wonderful place to camp, and there's some flowing water close by, Old Channel Big Bureau Creek is a stream you can stop at while here. In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Spring Creek, and Hormel Ponds is not far at all from Ottawa-Streator. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater       paddling is pleasant on Cedar Creek; a round of golf at nearby Hunter's Ridge Golf Course is a great way to kill some time. Hormel Ponds gets a common amount of rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. Throughout the summertime months highs here at Hormel Ponds reach the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down                  to the 20's while Hormel Ponds night low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's. What a place this is for outdoors folks.
