This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Lake Defiance Nature Trail is always a good adventure, and Griswold Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Pistakee Fishing Club is a good local campground. There's so much to do here at Griswold Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Fox Valley Camp Ground is a perfect place for that. This place, Griswold Lake, it absolutely has so much outdoors cool       stuff. Island Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by; while you're here and you like golf, you can stop by Prairie Isle Golf Club. Summertime highs at Griswold Lake usually tend to be in the 80's; the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, regularly in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's while Griswold Lake night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's. What would winter be without some skiing at Wilmot                  mountain, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Chicago-Crystal Lake, Il is a great site to spend a night or two. Why not stop at close by Cotton Creek since you're here at Griswold Lake; a great nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel - Mchenry. This lake is so wonderful. A swamp like Cotton Creek Marsh close to Griswold Lake has lots of exciting things to see, and close by you hit upon the Lake Defiance Trail which is a great hiking trail. Gotta ski! Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing) is a great location to do that; if you get bored of Griswold Lake you could also stop at nearby Defiance Lake. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Griswold Lake; the wettest month of the year is regularly July, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February.
