Sure, Thorn Lake is next to Green Lake, and after a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Lansing IL is a great spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. You could also pop by Swets Lake while you're here at Green Lake; it's nearby; camping at Emerald Trails is always a pleasant experience. Green Lake gets a typical amount of rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least       amount of precipitation. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Green Lake, and the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, usually in the 60's. Highs during the winter are usually in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Green Lake plunge into the 10's. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors fun stuff the area right next door to Green Lake has to offer. Take a side tour to Thorn Creek, and if you want to play some golf,                  you're in luck because Burnham Woods Golf Course is in the vicinity.
