Head up to Villa Olivia and strap some skis to your feet, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Grandwood Lake; Tamarack View Trail is a glorious local trail. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Pike River in the neighborhood of Grandwood Lake, and Bittersweet Golf Club is a golf       course close by. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Volo Bog Interpretive Trail, and if you need a place to stay Fairfield Inn Chicago Gurnee is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. During your trip to Grandwood Lake you'll meet some folks from Racine for sure. There's so much to do here at Grandwood Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Fox River Recreation is a nice site for that. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Grandwood Lake;                  the nighttime is a tad cooler of course, mostly in the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are regularly in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Grandwood Lake dip into the 0's. From a rainfall point of view Grandwood Lake is a quite common location; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is February. There are other spots here than Grandwood Lake, for example Third Lake, and Grandwood Lake is right by the Lake Defiance Nature Trail. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place!
