Not far from Governor Bond Lake, you'll come across Greenville New City Lake which is a gorgeous lake; Bonanza Camp Ground is a perfect local campground. Near Governor Bond Lake you discover the Chipmunk Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail, and Kingsbury Branch is one       of the streams nearby that might be worth a visit. Governor Bond Lake is a good site of typical rain; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain while January is regularly the driest month.
