If you are in Cook county it's always a good idea to stop by Goose Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Through the summer at Goose Lake highs are commonly in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are generally in the 20's while Goose Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 10's. | | you have time, Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor is a national park worth a visit.
A fine close by hotel is Ramada Limited Bolingbrook; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Villa Olivia while you're here. Rock Lake is a perfect lake near Goose Lake; Des Plaines is a good whitewater spot nearby. After a long day outdoors Chicago/Romeoville/Bolingbrook Super 8 Motel is a great place to spend a night or two; camping is available | |

Goose Lake is a good place of normal rain; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Very pretty scenery
and wonderful skiing is what you get at Four Lakes, and Black Partridge Forest Preserve is a pleasant local forest. Having a nice time at Goose Lake is trouble-free. Near Goose Lake you find a golf course called Big Run Golf Club; if you came for an overnight stay Paul and Mary's Raceway Camping is a good site to camp.
