After a long day outdoors Microtel Inn And Suites Quincy is a brilliant site to spend a night or two, and you can stay the night at Valley View Mobile Home Park. This lake is so wonderful. Shanty Bend Pond is a pleasant lake close to Goose Lake; there are plenty of folks from Quincy here at Goose Lake. Goose Lake gets a normal amount of precipitation; July is the wettest month with most rain while February is frequently the driest month. There are other locations

There's so much to do here at Goose Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Whispering Oaks Campgrounds is a tremendous site for that. through the winter are normally in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Goose Lake. Days Inn Quincy is a splendid place to get some rest, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then,
we recommend Bear Creek. If you come at the right time of year, Cedar Creek offers some wonderful whitewater, and a short tour to Homan Falls is always worthwhile. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing things
the area in the vicinity of Goose Lake has to offer. While you're here at Goose Lake you can play some golf at Cedar Crest Country Club, and Bear Creek is in the neighborhood of Goose Lake and is always a bliss to pop by.

 | 1 PHOTO In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out.
