The amount of rainfall that falls at Friend Lake is close to the national average; most of the rain falls through July while January is commonly the driest month. Through the days of summer here at Friend Lake, high temperatures commonly reach the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's; overnight lows at Friend Lake through the wintertime regularly fall into the                  10's. Get soaked paddling on Sangamon, and good water scenery is available at Longs Lake Dam close to Friend Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
