Any time is a fine time at Fox River Reservoir if you love the outdoors. Gotta ski! Wilmot mountain is a splendid spot to do that, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Wilderness Lake. There's so much to do here at Fox River Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Pistakee Fishing Club is a glorious spot for that, and there is a wonderful       hiking trail close by called the Fox River Trail. Through the summertime months highs here at Fox River Reservoir reach the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Fox River Reservoir. Super 8 Motel - Mchenry is a fine location to get some rest, and if you're here and you like golf, you can explore Mehenry Country Club. Dry warm beds await you                  at Holiday Inn Chicago-Crystal Lake, Il; nearby you hit upon the Leather Leaf Bog Trail which is a good hiking trail. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Fox River Reservoir. Going for a hike on the Lake Defiance Trail is always a fine adventure. This is a brilliant region for folks who like lakes. Tomahawk Lake is a lake in the vicinity, and if you want to hit the beach, Wonder Center Beach is in close proximity. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Fox River Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Fox Valley Camp Ground; swamps like Leatherleaf Bog in the vicinity of Fox River Reservoir make for good places to take a look at. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend White River; everybody close by loves skiing at Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing). At McHenry Lock and Dam next to Fox River Reservoir there are some exciting things to see; there are plenty of folks from Whitewater here.
