There is a pleasant hiking trail in the neighborhood of Fox Lake called the Lake Defiance Nature Trail, and hey, Squaw Creek is a tremendous local stream. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend White River, and everybody close by loves skiing at Wilmot mountain. While you're       here at Fox Lake you can play some golf at Hickory Knoll Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are perfect; Duck Lake is a lake that's near Fox Lake, and the slopes of Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing) are so inviting nobody can resist. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Fox Lake. On a great day at Fox Lake you can take a hike along the Tamarack View Trail, and since you're here                  you should take a look at Columbia Bay. A splendid place to camp here at Fox Lake is Island On The Chain RV Park, and Comfort Inn & Suites Antioch is a great place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. The Volo Bog Interpretive Trail is a fine hiking trail near Fox Lake; after a long day outdoors Super 8 McHenry is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. During the months of summer here at Fox Lake, high temperatures commonly reach the 80's with night lows in the 60's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Fox Lake temperatures descend to the 0's.
