Do stop by Fish Lake while you're in this part of Illinois. This lake is so wonderful. Hill Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth visiting; get yourself into a kayak and hit Mississippi River. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a brilliant time here at Fish Lake. Holiday Inn St. Louis/South County Ctr, Mo is a glorious place to get some rest; you get a great sight of Oklahoma Hill from here. For the period of the months of summer highs here

| | at Fish Lake reach the 80's, and the nighttime is quite colder of course, commonly in the 70's. Highs during the wintertime are commonly in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Fish Lake.

golf, you can go to Riverlakes Golf Course, and a lake close by is Hill Lake.
If you get bored of Fish Lake, you could also pop by close by Hill Lake, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Cahokia, Il is a great location
to spend a night or two. Fish Lake gets a typical amount of annual rainfall; the wettest month of the year is mostly May, that's the one that rains the most, and January is the month with the least moisture. Camp Dresser & Mcgee is a great local campground, and there's always Hill Lake Dam to visit close to Fish Lake.

Cahokia RV Parque
 | We spent a couple of nights at the Cahokia RV Parque recently and we were very satisfied. The location is off of a main road (IL 3) which makes it noisy, but easily accessible. The park is very close to downtown STL; about 5 miles. It is in a commercial area, close to East St. Louis, but we felt secure and comfortable. Though small and tightly spaced like most city RV parks, it is well kept. The only two complaints we had was the lack of cable TV and free WiFi. Though the park does have WiFi, there is a daily charge. Service was excellent, and the people were very helpful, courteous and accommodating. We were at first hesitant based on a previous review, but was surprised to be greeted and helped by some of the best parks staffers I have met. We looked at two other RV parks in the STL downtown area, and Cahokia Parque was easily the best. I would highly recommend this park to anyone travelling to or through St. Louis.... |
