For the duration of the moonlight       hours it's typically in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are usually in the 20's with temperatures at Elmwood Farms Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Elmwood Farms                  Lake, you'll hit upon Lake Potomac which is a wonderful lake, and Fox River Recreation is a good local campground. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Wilmot mountain; close by you hit upon the Tamarack View Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. A quick tour to Hastings Creek right next door to Elmwood Farms Lake is a wonderful idea, and a fine close by hotel is Fairfield Inn By Marriott Gurnee. Going for a hike on the Volo Bog Interpretive Trail is always a delightful adventure, and Elmwood Farms Lake is a good site to visit for more than one day, Schaul Country Lakes is a good site to camp nearby. If you come at the right time of year, Pike River offers some pleasant whitewater; you can hit the slopes at Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing) around here. Elmwood Farms Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rain; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is February.
