Why not camp at Windy City Campground while you're here at East Lagoon, and if you want to hit the beach, Fiftyninth Street Beach is around here. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of folks from Chicago-Naperville-Joliet here; a great spot to explore is Madison Park Shoal. Just can't get enough of East Lagoon. On a good day it's a good idea to spend the day at Fifty-Seventh Street Beach; after a long day outdoors Beadle Inn is a nice spot to spend

| | a night or two. Ramada Lake Shore Chicago is a brilliant location to get some rest, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by West Lagoon. Not far from East Lagoon you discover Columbia Basin. Lakes? Sure, South Lagoon is close by. While it’s unclear whether the State will put ''trail closed'' signs up, there is no apparent money to maintain them and fallen trees, washouts, and other issues will undoubtedly happen.
