This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. A cool spot to go to near Dresden Cooling Lake is Kankakee Bluffs, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Tallgrass Nature Trail. Dresden Cooling Lake
is not the only location nearby, Goose Lake is a nearby lake; after a long day outdoors Fairfield Inn Joliet South is a delightful site to spend a night or two. Summertime highs at Dresden Cooling Lake typically tend to be in the
80's. Summer night lows fall down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Dresden Cooling Lake are in the 10's.

 | 18 miles away 1 PHOTO To inspect for log jams beneath the gravel pit access bridge directly east of Romeoville High School, you are allowed to drive up to, but not ACROSS the bridge, according to a security gaurd at the gravel pit. To check for log jams, I'd park BEFORE the bridge, and get out and walk across the bridge, looking over the railing. Also, there's a spot where you can walk up to the river edge. Facing east, it will be on your right, before the bridge. I'm uploading a photo dated April 12, 2002. It's a view of that bridge, taken from the water, looking southwest.... |
