site to spend a night or two. Doyle Lake Dam is not far at all from Doyle Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Red Roof Inn Joliet, and Milliken Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. There's so much to do here at Doyle
Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Starting Line Campground is a tremendous site for that; going for a hike on the Tallgrass Nature Trail is always a fine adventure. The annual precipitation here at Doyle Lake is about average; June is the wettest month with most rain while January is commonly the driest month.

 | 14 miles away 1 PHOTO To inspect for log jams beneath the gravel pit access bridge directly east of Romeoville High School, you are allowed to drive up to, but not ACROSS the bridge, according to a security gaurd at the gravel pit. To check for log jams, I'd park BEFORE the bridge, and get out and walk across the bridge, looking over the railing. Also, there's a spot where you can walk up to the river edge.
