If you need a place to stay Comfort Inn & Suites Antioch is a good choice, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Deer Lake; Volo Bog Interpretive Trail is a good local trail. Deer Lake gets a typical amount of yearly precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summer       at Deer Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Deer Lake. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Wilmot mountain has wonderful slopes and a friendly staff, and get your pulse rate up on the perfect whitewater of Root River. There are other places here than Deer Lake, for example Redwing Slough Lake, and there's great hiking                  along the Tamarack View Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Pike River; why not take a refreshing hike along the Lake Defiance Nature Trail. Enjoy a round of golf at Bristol Oaks Country Club not far from Deer Lake, and Radisson Hotel & Conference Center Kenosha is a magnificent site to get some rest. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the vicinity of Deer Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing) around here, and a perfect place to camp here at Deer Lake is Fox River Recreation.
