If you come at the right time of year, Pike River offers some good whitewater, and you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Tamarack View Trail. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Root River, and if you need a site to stay Radisson Hotel & Conference Center Kenosha is a great choice. Summer                  at Deer Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Deer Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. Deer Lake gets a normal amount of precipitation; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. A golf course near Deer Lake is Bristol Oaks Country Club, and you'll locate a pretty lake called Redwing Slough Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
