Country Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Lincoln's New Salem State Historic Site Campground is a glorious local campground. There's so much to do here at Country Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Deer Park Camp Ground is a delightful place for that. Country Lake Dam is a place that is in the vicinity       of Country Lake; while you're here, you could also stop at wonderful Horseshoe Lake. You'll find a wonderful lake called Cilca Lake near Country Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Riverbank Lodge. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to come across some fine people from Springfield here; if you need a place to stay Springfield Howard Johnson Inn & Suites is a pleasant choice. All through the warmest time of the year, highs regularly are in the 80's                  at Country Lake. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Country Lake. Paddling on Sangamon is so much fun; why not a little side journey to Rock Creek.
