Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Fishpond Swamp, and Clear Pond is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Burrell Park and Campground is a splendid local campground. Clear Pond gets a normal amount of yearly rain; May is when you get the most rain here, and January on the other hand is the driest. This is a wonderful region for people who like lakes. | | Pond ordinarily tend to be in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Throughout the winter the highs are usually in the 30's, and night lows in the 20's for Clear Pond. If you need a location to stay Four Seasons Motel is a delightful choice, and Clear Pond sits in the shade of the Dogtown Hills. This lake is so wonderful. The peak of Dogtown Hills can be seen from Clear Pond; a splendid nearby hotel is New Harmony Inn. | |

Big Lake
 | 14 miles away Big lake is a beautiful lake surrounded by lage cypress trees. In the 1940's and 50's it was called Big Lake resot, several cabins and a lage hotel, kept full duing the season. Boat rentals and a bait shop and grocery/cafe were also here. Now there ae just a fe cabins left and the hotel is gone, but the memories are still there.... |
