An afternoon playing golf at Jackson Country Club is always a pleasure. Summertime highs at Chautauqua Lake frequently tend to be in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. Throughout the wintertime highs are commonly in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Chautauqua Lake. Lots of folks from Carbondale come to Chautauqua Lake, and Little Grassy Creek has a tremendous whitewater paddling       spot close by. Be careful coming to Chautauqua Lake, you might not ever want to go home again. Chautauqua Lake is a pleasant spot to visit for more than one day, Crab Orchard Camp Grounds is a pleasant spot to camp nearby, and you don’t have to go far from Chautauqua Lake to catch a sight of the water at Chautauqua Lake Dam. The panorama of Mount Carbon from Chautauqua Lake is striking, and after a long day outdoors Carbondale Super 8 Motel is a pleasant                  location to spend a night or two. Chautauqua Lake ordinarily gets a large amount of rain; the wettest month of the year is typically May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is January. Econo Lodge Carbondale is a magnificent place to get some rest, and Chautauqua Lake is not the only place nearby, Lake Henry is a nearby lake. This lake is so wonderful.
