Goose Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth a visit, and a lake nearby is Ash Lake. This is a popular site for folks from Carbondale, and SUPER 8 MOTEL - DU QUOIN is a great site to get some rest. During the long       summer days here at Cedar Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 90's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 30's, and overnight lows during the wintertime for Cedar Lake tend to be in the 20's.
