Not far from Campbell Lake, you'll hit upon Snider Lake which is a wonderful lake, and if you're visiting from Carbondale, you won't be the only one. For the duration of the summer months at Campbell Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. The       winter brings highs down to the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Campbell Lake fall into the 20's. Stay the night at Bates Campground, and Holiday Inn CARBONDALE-CONFERENCE CENTER is a fine place to get some rest. Now, you may believe that's plenty but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Campbell Lake. A splendid sight of pretty Dutch Hill is available from Campbell Lake; a wonderful close by hotel is Super 8 Du                  Quoin. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Little Grassy Creek in the neighborhood of Campbell Lake, and there are other places here than Campbell Lake, for example Fox Lake.
