If you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Express Keokuk,Ia is a tremendous choice, and if you come at the right time of year, Cedar Creek offers some fine whitewater. Scheuermann Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by, and unsurprisingly Lick Branch is a charming stream that is worth checking out. Holiday Inn QUINCY is a wonderful place to get some rest, and you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Locust Lane

 | 13 miles away 1 PHOTO In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out.
