A visit to Bruce Lake is always a good idea. If you need a place to stay Champagne Lodge and Luxury Suites is a great choice, and you can stay the night at Paul and Mary's Raceway Camping. This lake is so wonderful. Bruce Lake is not the only location nearby, Goose Lake is a nearby lake, and Bruce Lake is a great site to visit for more than one day, Martin Campground-joliet is a great site to camp nearby.

| | is near Bruce Lake, and a lake nearby is Barth Pond. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Bruce Lake. The sights at Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor will blow your mind, and Villa Olivia is a great local ski area. Bruce Lake is a good site of normal precipitation; July is the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.

rest; Bruce Lake is not far at all from Chicago-Naperville-Joliet. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Bruce Lake you can play some golf at Carriage Country Club; there's whitewater on Des Plaines for all you adrenaline
people. Summertime at Bruce Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Bruce Lake.

While it’s unclear whether the State will put ''trail closed'' signs up, there is no apparent money to maintain them and fallen trees, washouts, and other issues will undoubtedly happen. To inspect for log jams beneath the gravel pit access bridge directly east of Romeoville High School, you are allowed to drive up to, but not ACROSS the bridge, according to a security gaurd at the gravel pit. To check for log jams, I'd park BEFORE the bridge, and get out and walk across the bridge, looking over the railing. Also, there's a spot where you can walk up to the river edge. Facing east, it will be on your right, before the bridge. I'm uploading a photo dated April 12, 2002. It's a view of that bridge, taken from the water, looking southwest.... |
