Throughout the warmest time of the year, highs commonly are in the 80's at Browns Lake. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Browns Lake are in the 20's. If you need a location to stay Super 8 Motel is a great choice; it's a great idea to visit Jones Quarry Creek. There's so much to do here at Browns       Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Big Oak Campground is a great spot for that; since you're here and you like golf, you can pop by Jackson Country Club. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Browns Lake. If you came to camp Shady Rest Campground is a good location to do that, and dry warm beds await you at Apple Tree Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Browns Lake you acquire some delightful water scenery at Borgsmiller Lake                  Dam; if you've had enough of Browns Lake, Borgsmiller Lake is nearby. Little Grassy Creek has a nice whitewater paddling spot nearby. Here at Browns Lake there are plenty of folks from Carbondale, and the peak of Mount Carbon can be spotted from Browns Lake.
