Brandon Road Pool is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. This lake is so wonderful. Super 8 Motel - Joliet/Chicago/I-80 is a perfect site to get some rest; hiking is a popular thing to do around Brandon Road Pool; Tallgrass Nature Trail is a nice local trail. There's some interesting stuff to see at Brandon Locks near Brandon Road Pool, and why not a little side trip to Hickory Creek. You definitely have to fancy Brandon Road Pool. Joliet

| | Park District Wedgewood Golf Course is a great golf course nearby, and whitewater paddling is tremendous on Des Plaines.
The annual precipitation here at Brandon Road Pool is about average; all through the month of July you get the most rain around here; February on the other hand is the driest. Camping at Empress Rv Resort is always a fine experience, and after a long day outdoors Red Roof Inn Joliet is a brilliant location to spend a night or two.

All our national parks are good places to visit, and Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor is no exception, and the snow is glorious at Four Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. You'll locate a delightful lake called Joliet
Junior College Lake near Brandon Road Pool, and lakes are such calm locations, why not have a look at Illinois Waterway. There are plenty of folks from Chicago-Naperville-Joliet here at Brandon Road Pool, and camping is available
at Green Fields Campground.
Summertime at Brandon Road Pool comes with high temperatures in the 80's while night lows are commonly in the 60's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Brandon Road Pool.

To inspect for log jams beneath the gravel pit access bridge directly east of Romeoville High School, you are allowed to drive up to, but not ACROSS the bridge, according to a security gaurd at the gravel pit. To check for log jams, I'd park BEFORE the bridge, and get out and walk across the bridge, looking over the railing. Also, there's a spot where you can walk up to the river edge. Facing east, it will be on your right, before the bridge. I'm uploading a photo dated April 12, 2002. It's a view of that bridge, taken from the water, looking southwest.... |
