There is a great hiking trail in the neighborhood of Bluff Lake called the Chipmunk Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Carlyle Lake is a nice place to camp. Bluff Lake is a good location of typical rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; January is when it's the driest. Boulder Campground is a good local campground, and after a long day outdoors Microtel       Inn and Suites Carlyle is a good place to spend a night or two. Throughout the days of summer, highs typically are in the 80's at Bluff Lake. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are mostly in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Bluff Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
