Stay the night at Bayview Campers Park, and there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Fall Creek. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Hampton Inn Quincy is a nice choice; Big Lake is a magnificent site to visit for more than one day, Valley View Mobile Home Park is a magnificent site to camp nearby. For you golfers we recommend nearby Westview Golf Course. All the outdoors fun things close to Big Lake will keep you coming back persistently.

| | Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cedar Creek, and dry warm beds await you at Americas Best Value Inn/Quincy. Here at Big Lake there are plenty of people from Quincy, and if you're here, you could also stop at pretty Twin Lake. Summer at Big Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Cedar Creek
 | 1 PHOTO In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out.
