Hit the slopes at Four Lakes in the neighborhood, and Prince Lake is a perfect lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. Barth Pond is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Paul and Mary's Raceway Camping is a pleasant local campground. Barth Pond gets a typical amount of precipitation; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. If you came to camp Martin Campground-joliet is a perfect place to do that; Barth Pond is

| | a place with many visitors from Chicago-Naperville-Joliet. If you need a place to stay Downers Grove Chicago Red Roof Inn is a pleasant choice; a visit to Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor is recommended. A perfect site for whitewater paddling near Barth Pond is Des Plaines, and lakes are such calm sites, why not visit Bruce Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Resort is a brilliant location to get some rest. For the period of the warmest time of the year at Barth Pond temperatures are mostly in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are usually in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Barth Pond.

While it’s unclear whether the State will put ''trail closed'' signs up, there is no apparent money to maintain them and fallen trees, washouts, and other issues will undoubtedly happen.  | 10 miles away 1 PHOTO To inspect for log jams beneath the gravel pit access bridge directly east of Romeoville High School, you are allowed to drive up to, but not ACROSS the bridge, according to a security gaurd at the gravel pit. To check for log jams, I'd park BEFORE the bridge, and get out and walk across the bridge, looking over the railing. Also, there's a spot where you can walk up to the river edge. Facing east, it will be on your right, before the bridge. I'm uploading a photo dated April 12, 2002. It's a view of that bridge, taken from the water, looking southwest.... |
