     The amount of rainfall that falls at Wood Lake is close to the national average; January is when you get the most snow here; July is when it's the driest. During the months of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Wood Lake. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while Wood Lake night low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. On a great day at Wood Lake you can take a hike  
   along the Anderson Butte National Recreation Trail, and camping at Fog Mountain Campground is always a wonderful experience.
Now, you may assume that's loads but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Clearwater Mountains. Not far from Wood Lake, you'll hit upon Old Man Lake which is a beautiful lake; drift down the rapids of Lochsa River in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the East Boyd Glover Roundtop National Recreation
 
               Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood; Wood Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Race Creek Campground is a wonderful local campground. All the outdoors exciting stuff next to Wood Lake will keep you coming back over and over. If the weather is nice here at Wood Lake, you can go for a hike along the Meadow Creek National Recreation Trail; there are other spots here than Wood Lake, for example Kettle Lake.
Wood Lake is located in the Clearwater Mountains. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! The Clearwater Mountains is unbeatable!. Chimney Peak is clearly visible from Wood Lake; if you come at the right time of year, Lochsa River offers some good whitewater.
