Wildhorse Lakes is a splendid spot to visit for more than one day, Wildhorse Campground is a splendid spot to camp nearby; don’t forget to stop by Big Basin if you're here at Wildhorse Lakes. Not far from Wildhorse Lakes, you'll stumble on Boulder Lake which is a wonderful lake, and this neighborhood is dominated by the Pioneer Mountains. Wildhorse Lakes gets very little rainfall; of all the months in a year January       is the one with the most snow while July is mostly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Big Lost River - East Fork for all you adrenaline junkies, and Cobb Peak is clearly visible from Wildhorse Lakes. Wildhorse Lakes in fact is in the middle of a gorgeous outdoors paradise. Stay the night at Federal Gulch Campground, and skiing at Sun Valley is one of those things you just should do. Don't leave Wildhorse Lakes without first                  going for a hike along the Copper Creek Trail, and if you need a site to stay The Ridge by ResortQuest is a perfect choice. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Wildhorse Lakes with night lows in the 40's.
