This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Saint Mary Peak Trail; after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Hamilton is a magnificent location to spend a night or two. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Bitterroot Range. Lee Creek Campground is a glorious campground nearby. Summer at White Sand Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. | | the dark hours in the wintertime at White Sand Lake temperatures drop to the 10's. Go for a hike on the Lee Ridge Trail; not far from White Sand Lake you'll come across Maud Lake which is a lovely lake. The yearly rainfall here at White Sand Lake is about average; most of the snow falls through January, and the driest month is July. And that's not all you can do here at White Sand Lake. whitewater, and there are other sites here than White Sand Lake, for example Parachute Lake. The Bitterroot Range scenery is always beautiful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit White Sand Creek, and there are tremendous locations to look at along the Sally Ridge Trail.
