Good hiking is available along the Saint Mary Peak Trail; after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Hamilton is a magnificent location to spend a night or two. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Bitterroot Range. Lee Creek Campground is a glorious campground nearby. Summer at White Sand Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer night lows descend down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and through       the dark hours in the wintertime at White Sand Lake temperatures drop to the 10's. Go for a hike on the Lee Ridge Trail; not far from White Sand Lake you'll come across Maud Lake which is a lovely lake. The yearly rainfall here at White Sand Lake is about average; most of the snow falls through January, and the driest month is July. And that's not all you can do here at White Sand Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Colt Creek Campground is a wonderful                  location to camp, and don't forget to take a good little trip to Garnet Creek. But wait, there's more exciting things to do in the Bitterroot Range. If you come at the right time of year, Big Sand Creek offers some delightful whitewater, and there are other sites here than White Sand Lake, for example Parachute Lake. The Bitterroot Range scenery is always beautiful.
