If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Smith Creek. You'll need more than a day to explore everything West Fork Lake has to offer, you       can camp at Dirt Oven Campground. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to West Fork Lake, and the night is a little colder of course, mostly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at West Fork Lake temperatures drop to the 10's. A day on the slopes of Schweitzer is just what you need. There's so much to do here at West Fork Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Plowboy Campground is a                  brilliant site for that. West Fork Lake is pretty dry ordinarily; November is the month that gets the most rain, and July is when it's the driest.
