What a nice lake Welcome Lake is. Welcome Lake is a splendid place to visit for more than one day, Yellowjacket Campground is a splendid place to camp nearby; Camas Creek is a great whitewater spot nearby. Welcome Lake is mostly a pretty dehydrated location; June is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is February. Welcome Lake is located in the Salmon River Mountains.

| | Creek Trail; there are other sites here than Welcome Lake, for example Airplane Lake. Summertime at Welcome Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer night lows fall down to the 40's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Welcome Lake temperatures plunge to the 0's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Lakes? Sure, Heart Lake is in the vicinity.
