Through the months of summer here at Welcome Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 20's; nighttime lows in the 0's for Welcome Lake. This site, the Salmon River Mountains, has so much outdoors exciting stuff. If you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater       paddling on Panther Creek, and close by you hit upon the Clear Creek Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Welcome Lake. Camping is available at Crags Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Welcome Lake, you could also visit nearby Heart Lake, and there is a fine hiking trail close by called the Ship Island Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Salmon River Mountains.                  Camping at Yellowjacket Campground is always a splendid experience; on a good day you can take a hike along the Waterfall Trail. A lake close by is Harbor Lake; a great location for whitewater paddling is Camas Creek.
