It's always fun to stop by Walton Lakes. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool stuff the Bitterroot Range has to offer. Walton Lakes is not the only site close by, Colt Lake is a close by lake, and you can go for a hike on the Granite Ridge Trail. Summertime highs at Walton Lakes typically tend to be in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Walton

| | Lakes are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. White Sand Creek is a perfect whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Walton Lakes; fine hiking is available along the Colgate Licks Nature National Recreation Trail.
There's so much to do here at Walton Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, White Sand Campground is a good place for that, and don't leave Walton Lakes without first going for a hike along the State Line Trail. If you love the outdoors, | |

lake nearby is Grouse Lake, and in case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Crooked Fork. The yearly precipitation here at Walton Lakes is about average; all through January this area
sees the most snow, and the driest month is July. This lake is one of the great places here in the Bitterroot Range.
