At Walton Lakes during the summertime months highs are in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Walton Lakes. Walton Lakes is located in the Bitterroot Range. Walton Lakes is a good site of normal rain; most of the snow falls throughout January, and July is the month with the least moisture.

Going for a hike on the State Line Trail is always a fine adventure; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Grouse Lake. So much fun stuff to do in the
Bitterroot Range, not enough time. If you came for an overnight stay White Sand Campground is a good place to camp, and White Sand Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot close by. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Bitterroot Range.
