Sure, Lower Standard Lake is around here; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Schweitzer while you're here. There is a glorious hiking trail near Upper Standard Lake called the Chipmunk Rapids National Recreation Trail; dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites SANDPOINT, NORTH. If only every location had this much outdoors cool stuff, what a great planet it would be. After a long day outdoors Schweitzer Mountain       Resort is a fine location to spend a night or two, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Standard Lakes. Float down the rapids of Boundary Creek in a kayak, and a great location to camp here at Upper Standard Lake is Dirt Oven Campground. This lake is so wonderful. The White Mountain Trail is a magnificent hiking trail near Upper Standard Lake. You get a pleasant panorama of The Wigwams from Upper Standard Lake, and                  close by you stumble on the Hanna Flast Nature Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. Throughout the warm months highs here at Upper Standard Lake reach the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 40's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Upper Standard Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Get covered with water paddling on Smith Creek, and camping at Indian Creek Campground is always a tremendous experience.
