A good spot for whitewater paddling close to Turquoise Lake is Panther Creek; why not camp at Yellowjacket Campground since you're here at Turquoise Lake. Just can't get enough of the Salmon River Mountains. The South Fork Trail is a glorious hiking trail in the vicinity       of Turquoise Lake; you can catch a sight of Puddin Mountain from Turquoise Lake. Turquoise Lake gets very little rain; through the month of June you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is February. There is a great hiking trail close to Turquoise Lake called the Ship Island Trail, and camping at Turquoise Lake is great fun, Crags Campground is a great local campground. The warmest time of the year at Turquoise Lake arrives with                  high temperatures in the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Turquoise Lake descend into the 0's. Turquoise Lake is located in the Salmon River Mountains.
