    Tripod Reservoir is a lake worth visiting. All through the days of summer at Tripod Reservoir temperatures are generally in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 20's, and night lows during the winter for Tripod Reservoir tend to be in the 10's. Be careful coming to Tripod Reservoir, you might not ever want to return home again. There's delightful hiking along the Pine  
   Creek Meadow Trail, and Tripod Dam has splendid water scenery. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Salmon River Mountains. Cougar Mountain is trouble-free to spot from Tripod Reservoir, and a great close by hotel is Mccall Super 8 Lodge.
Go for a hike on the Big Eddy Trail, and Payette River - North Fork is a great whitewater spot nearby. Just can't get enough of the Salmon River Mountains. Stay the night at Big Eddy Campground. This lake
 
               is so wonderful. Snowmobile Parking Campground is a splendid campground nearby, and South Fork Tripod Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth visiting.
If you need a site to stay Ashley Inn is a glorious choice, and great hiking is available along the Sage Hen Basin Trail. Tripod Reservoir gets very little rainfall; most of the snow falls through December, and July is when it's the driest. This lake is located in the wonderful Salmon River Mountains.
