    Beautiful Tripod Reservoir has much to offer visitors. All year is a wonderful time in the Salmon River Mountains if you love the outdoors. Cougar Mountain is uncomplicated to spot from Tripod Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Big Eddy Campground is always a nice experience; there is a great hiking trail close by called the Big Eddy Trail. Throughout the days of summer at Tripod Reservoir highs are mostly in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows descend  
   down to the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's, and night lows at Tripod Reservoir through the winter generally descend into the 10's.
There are wonderful locations to look at along the Pine Creek Meadow Trail, and if you need a spot to stay Mccall Super 8 Lodge is a brilliant choice. Looking for some flowing water? Try South Fork Tripod Creek, and going for a hike on the Sage Hen Basin Trail is always a splendid adventure. You'll wish for
 
               more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff at Tripod Reservoir. Tripod Reservoir is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Snowmobile Parking Campground is a magnificent local campground, and you can run the rapids of Payette River - North Fork.
The Salmon River Mountains scenery is always beautiful. So much exciting stuff to do here in the Salmon River Mountains, too brilliant to be true. Tripod Dam is worth taking a look at while you're here, and dry warm beds await you at Ashley Inn. Tripod Reservoir gets very little rain; during December this area sees the most snow while July is typically the driest month.
