Summer night lows fall down to the 40's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Toxaway Lake are in the 10's. The yearly rain here at Toxaway Lake is about average; most of the snow falls during January, and July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. The Bull Moose Trail is a tremendous hiking trail right       next door to Toxaway Lake, and the slopes of Soldier Mountain Ski Resort are so inviting nobody can resist. There is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Toxaway Lake called the Yellow Belly Trail, and Salmon River has a splendid whitewater paddling spot close by. Camping at Alturas Inlet Campground is always a glorious experience, needless to say you could also stop at Edith Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. And if that's not sufficient, there's                  loads more to do right next door to Toxaway Lake. A perfect vista of lovely Payette Peak is available from Toxaway Lake, and the beautiful Sawtooth Range is here. And if that's not enough there's heaps more fun things to do in the Sawtooth Range. Going for a hike on the Yuba River Trail is always a pleasant adventure; camping is available at Smoky Bear Campground. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sawtooth Range. Now, you may assume that's a lot but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Sawtooth Range.
