The Salmon River Mountains scenery is always beautiful. You could also check out Alpine Lake since you're here at Tip Top Lake; it's nearby, and the South Fork Trail is a brilliant hiking trail nearby. Not much rainfall falls here at Tip Top Lake; through the month of June you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore       everything Tip Top Lake has to offer, you can camp at Crags Campground; there is a good hiking trail close by called the Ship Island Trail. Having a great time in the Salmon River Mountains is easy. Stay the night at Yellowjacket Campground, and get dripping wet paddling on Monumental Creek. That right there is loads already, but it carries on; Tip Top Lake has it all. Going for a hike on the Waterfall Trail is always a great adventure. Puddin Mountain                  is picturesque and can be seen from Tip Top Lake, and whitewater paddling is great on Camas Creek. Through the warm days of summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Tip Top Lake with night lows in the 40's.
