This lake is one of the great places here in the Salmon River Mountains. All the outdoors cool stuff in the Salmon River Mountains will keep you coming back persistently. The Ship Island Trail offers hiking at its best, and Ramshorn Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Salmon River Mountains. Why not camp at Crags Campground since you're here at Tip       Top Lake; whitewater paddling is nice on Camas Creek. This lake is so wonderful. A good site to camp here at Tip Top Lake is Yellowjacket Campground, and a delightful vista of pretty Puddin Mountain is available. For the duration of the summer months at Tip Top Lake temperatures are generally in the 80's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 40's. All through the wintertime highs are regularly in the 20's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Tip Top                  Lake tend to be in the 0's. Not much precipitation falls here at Tip Top Lake; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Tip Top Lake is right by the Waterfall Trail; a lake close by is Echo Lake. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors fun things the area in close proximity to Tip Top Lake has to offer.
