Timpa Lake is right by the Black Warrior Creek Trail; Soldier Mountain Ski Resort is a very popular ski area in close proximity. This lake is so wonderful. A great spot to camp here at Timpa Lake is Queens River Campground; whitewater paddling is great on Salmon River. Having a perfect time in the Sawtooth Range is trouble-free. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Bull Moose Trail, and getting to Billy Creek from Timpa Lake       is easy. Timpa Lake is a beautiful lake in the Sawtooth Range. The Yuba River Trail offers hiking at its best, and at Timpa Lake you can see Plummer Peak. Summertime highs at Timpa Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Timpa Lake. Timpa Lake is a good site of normal                  precipitation; through January this area sees the most snow, and July on the other hand is the driest. You imagine that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up.
