High temperatures at Thompson Hole throughout the months of summer are in the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Thompson Hole. Thompson Hole is a great place to camp, Cave Falls Campground is a great place, and there is a tremendous hiking trail nearby called the West       Boundary Trail. All the outdoors amusing stuff right next door to Thompson Hole will keep you coming back persistently. Grand Targhee is a delightful local ski area; going for a hike on the North Bitch Creek Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for some flowing water? Try Dog Creek; if you're here at Thompson Hole it's a great idea to visit Putney Meadows. An average amount of rainfall falls at Thompson Hole; January is when                  you get the most snow here, and the driest month of the year is July. A splendid site for whitewater paddling next to Thompson Hole is Bitch Creek, and if you've had enough of Thompson Hole, Indian Lake is close by. Stay the night at Bear Gulch Campground, and after a long day outdoors Grand Targhee Ski And Summer Resort is a delightful site to spend a night or two. Put some time aside to spend at Sheep Falls while you're here at Thompson Hole, and a great nearby hotel is Teton Mountain View Lodge. This lake is so wonderful.
