Teardrop Lake is always a pleasure to visit. You just must fancy the Salmon River Mountains. Lakes are such serene sites, why not check out Pearl Lake close to Teardrop Lake; going for a hike on the Fall Creek Trail is always a magnificent adventure. At Teardrop Lake you don’t see much rainfall; May is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. Man, is there a lot of amusing things to do near Teardrop Lake. Man, is there a lot of cool stuff to do in the Salmon River Mountains. Camping at Upper Payette Campground is always a brilliant experience, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try North Fork Pearl Creek. High temperatures at Teardrop Lake through the long summer days are in the 90's. Summer night lows fall down to the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime | |

After a long day outdoors Mccall Super 8 Lodge is a splendid spot to spend a night or two, and you'll
discover a pretty lake called Brush Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Salmon River Mountains. A glorious place to camp here at Teardrop Lake is Upper Payette Lake Campground, and there is a wonderful hiking trail close by
called the Box Lake Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. During your stay at Teardrop Lake do explore nearby North Beach; on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Crestline Trail.

The trail has not been maintained. I was able to hike it easily to the top 2 or 3 years ago. Not today...It was overgrown a lot and substantial deadfall. There are some burned spots also. That said, it's beautiful and a rigorous hike. Wear pants as the twigs will scratch you, and take insect repellant. Check your body for ticks also. The lookout is cool.... |
Blackmare Lake

The trail to Blackmare Lake is in very poor shape. The fire last year weakened the trees and the wind took down many of them. There are several 24-36' logs across the trail preventing horse travel. Hikers can make the trek, but expect to be climbing over a lot of down timber. The trails themselves are not terrible, but they are very loose with decomposed granite sand.
The other big problem with the trail is that past the signs at the first bridge, there is absolutely no direction as to where the trails will take you or how far you are along the trails. ... |
