    Swimming Bear Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. The Storm Peak Trail is a great hiking trail next to Swimming Bear Lake, and the top of Indian Peak is easily seen from Swimming Bear Lake. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Bitterroot Range. Why not camp at Spruce Tree Campground since you're here at Swimming Bear Lake, and Super 8 Motel - St. Regis is a good place to get some rest.  
   This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, St. Joe River offers some wonderful whitewater, and camping at Swimming Bear Lake is tremendous fun, Fly Flat Campground is a tremendous local campground.
Swimming Bear Lake is a good location of normal precipitation; January is the month that gets the most snow, and the driest of the months is July. Three Lakes Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth going to; close by you
 
               hit upon the Cedar Creek Stock Driveway which is a good hiking trail. Throughout the long summer days, highs usually are in the 80's at Swimming Bear Lake with overnight lows in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Swimming Bear Lake dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights.
Now, you may feel that's lots but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Swimming Bear Lake. After a long day outdoors Best Western Wallace Inn is a brilliant site to spend a night or two. Swimming Bear Lake is located in the Bitterroot Range.
