There's some flowing water close by, Timpa Creek is a stream you can go to while you're here; why not camp at Queens River Campground if you're here at Surprise Lake. High temperatures at Surprise Lake throughout the months of summer are in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs       in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Surprise Lake temperatures sink to the 10's. There are wonderful spots to explore along the Yuba River Trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at nearby Chickadee Lake. The top of Plummer Peak is easily seen from Surprise Lake; a delightful spot to camp here at Surprise Lake is Powerplant Campground. Surprise Lake is located in the Sawtooth Range. So many                  entertaining things to do here at Surprise Lake, too delightful to be true. Going for a hike on the Bull Moose Trail is always a great adventure, and paddling on Salmon River is so much fun. That right there is plenty of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Sawtooth Range has it all. Go for a hike on the Black Warrior Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Soldier Mountain Ski Resort. Lakes are splendid; Confusion Lake is a lake that's close to Surprise Lake.
