For the period of the warm months at Stoddard Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's with overnight lows in the 30's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Stoddard Lake. Stoddard Lake gets a normal amount of annual precipitation; most of the snow falls throughout January; the driest of the months is July. Stoddard       Lake is located in the Salmon River Mountains. Now, you may imagine that's plenty but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Stoddard Lake. Papoose Creek Campground is a wonderful local campground; while you're here you can take a hike along the Farrow Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You'll locate a picturesque lake called Swamp Angel Lake near Stoddard Lake, and the Goat Creek Trail is a brilliant hiking trail close by. The top of Twin Peak                  is easily observed from Stoddard Lake, and Stoddard Lake is a nice site to visit for more than one day, Parrot Placer Campground is a nice site to camp nearby. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in the Salmon River Mountains will keep you coming back repeatedly. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Big Creek, and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Black Butte Trail. There are some perfect whitewater spots on Monumental Creek, and a scenic lake like Cottonwood Lake is a glorious site to stop by.
