     The beauty of Stoddard Lake attracts many people from all around. Good hiking is available along the Farrow Mountain Trail; if you've had enough of Stoddard Lake, Papoose Lake is nearby. This lake is located in the wonderful Salmon River Mountains. That right there is heaps of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Salmon River Mountains has it all.
And if you're still looking for more outdoors entertaining things just keep reading. You can run the rapids
 
   of Monumental Creek next to Stoddard Lake, and you can stay the night at Parrot Placer Campground. Stoddard Lake is a good site of normal rain; the wettest month of the year is frequently January, that's the one that snows the most while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Stoddard Lake. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 30's. Highs all through the winter are ordinarily in the 20's; overnight  
               lows through the wintertime for Stoddard Lake tend to be in the 0's.
Hiking is a popular thing to do around Stoddard Lake; Black Butte Trail is a tremendous local trail, and on a gorgeous day you obtain a delightful vista of Twin Peak from Stoddard Lake. Be careful coming to the Salmon River Mountains, you might not ever want to return back home again. A good spot for whitewater paddling near Stoddard Lake is Big Creek, and Papoose Creek Campground is a great campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Goat Creek Trail, and Stoddard Lake is not the only place close by, Basin Lake is a close by lake.
