Man, is there loads of exciting things to do near Steamboat Lake. Near Steamboat Lake you come across the Indian Ridge Trail which is a great hiking trail, and everyone close by loves skiing at Brundage Mountain. This lake is one of the great places here in the Salmon River Mountains. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Salmon River Mountains. A nice place for whitewater       paddling in the neighborhood of Steamboat Lake is Salmon River - South Fork; Steamboat Lake is not the only spot nearby, Bear Lake is a nearby lake. This lake is so wonderful. Chinook Campground is a splendid campground here; everybody loves Little Pony Meadows. There is a brilliant hiking trail close to Steamboat Lake called the South Fork Sheep Creek Trail; Steamboat Lake is a tremendous site to camp, Krassel Creek Campground is a tremendous site. You                  can run the rapids of Secesh River close to Steamboat Lake; going for a hike on the Camp Creek Cutoff Trail is always a fine adventure. An average amount of rainfall falls at Steamboat Lake; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow, and July on the other hand is the driest. High temperatures at Steamboat Lake during the summer months are in the 70's while night lows are generally in the 30's. During the winter highs are in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Steamboat Lake descend into the 0's.
