This lake is so wonderful. A wonderful lake like Blue Lake next to Steamboat Lake is a splendid location to pop by, and Chinook Campground is a perfect local campground. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Secesh River, and on a fine day you can take a hike along the South Fork Sheep       Creek Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Salmon River Mountains. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a fine time here at Steamboat Lake. Lakes are such peaceful locations, why not visit Bear Lake near Steamboat Lake, and nearby you hit upon the Camp Creek Cutoff Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. Steamboat Lake gets a common amount of yearly rainfall; the month with most of the snow is January, and the driest month of the year is July.                  Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Salmon River Mountains. There is a magnificent hiking trail close to Steamboat Lake called the Indian Ridge Trail. But wait, there's more exciting stuff to do in the Salmon River Mountains. A pleasant trip to Little Pony Meadows is a great way to spend an afternoon; Steamboat Lake is a nice location to visit for more than one day, Krassel Creek Campground is a nice location to camp nearby. Throughout the months of summer at Steamboat Lake highs are ordinarily in the 70's while overnight lows are mostly in the 30's.
