In Idaho there are many beautiful lakes, Steamboat Lake is one of them. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Steamboat Lake. Stay the night at Krassel Creek Campground. The Salmon River Mountains scenery is always beautiful. And if that's not sufficient there's a lot more fun things to do in the Salmon River Mountains. Chinook Campground is a great campground nearby, and close by you come across the Camp Creek Cutoff Trail
which is a wonderful hiking trail.
Steamboat Lake is a good location of typical rain; January is the wettest month with most snow while July is frequently the driest month. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Brundage Mountain, and the South Fork Sheep Creek Trail is a tremendous hiking trail nearby. All through the long summer days at Steamboat Lake highs are frequently in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 30's.

Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Steamboat Lake temperatures plunge to the 0's.
This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Secesh River in a kayak, and there is a brilliant hiking trail nearby called the Indian Ridge Trail. Little Pony Meadows is a great location, and if you come at the right time of year, Salmon River - South Fork offers some great whitewater.
