     Idaho has many beautiful lakes and Steamboat Lake is one of them. There's whitewater on Clearwater River - Little North Fork for all you adrenaline junkies; most likely you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, No-see-um Lake is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Steamboat Lake; January is the month that gets the most snow, and July is when it's the driest.
This lake is so wonderful. Hiking
 
   is a popular thing to do around Steamboat Lake; Rukgaber Trail is a delightful local trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Little North Fork Campground is a magnificent place to camp. This lake is located in the wonderful Clearwater Mountains. Looking for something next to Steamboat Lake? Noseeum Lake is in the vicinity; delightful hiking is available along the Old Montana Trail.
You just ought to fancy the Clearwater Mountains. Some nearby water includes
 
               White Gravel Creek, and here at Steamboat Lake you can catch a glimpse of Barren Hill. Just can't get enough of Steamboat Lake. Why not camp at Twin Creek Campground since you're here at Steamboat Lake, and get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of St. Joe River - Skookum Canyon. Man, is there a lot of cool stuff to do in the Clearwater Mountains. There's delightful hiking along the Nelson Peak Trail; what would winter be without some skiing at Lookout Pass.
Summertime at Steamboat Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 40's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Steamboat Lake temperatures fall to the 20's.

Lookout Pass is the original Idaho ski area having documented skiing and a home made rope tow in 1935. The local ski pioneers chose Lookout Pass because of the abundant snowfall and excellent snow quality which they could access by jumping on the Northern Pacific railcars as they proceeded east from the mining towns of Wallace and Mullan, Idaho. These ski adventurers would hop off the railcars at the summit and utilize a highway storage shed as a warming hut that they nicknamed ''Buzzards Roost''.
Lookout Pass has operated every winter season since 1935 and has a reputation for legendary powder, earliest openings, and longest season in the region. Average snowfall is 400'' of light Northern Rockies snow. The ''Affordable Family Ski Area'' has recently received a major expansion approval and has initiated the first three phases of a five phase Master Development Plan....
