The beauty of Stampede Lake attracts many people from all around. There are some fine whitewater spots on Pack River, and a glorious nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites SANDPOINT NORTH. Throughout the long summer days at Stampede Lake highs are commonly in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Stampede Lake. This lake is

| | so wonderful. The Grouse Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best; you'll meet a lot of folks from Coeur d'Alene here.
There's some flowing water nearby, Fall Creek is a stream you can stop by while here, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Stampede Lake; Upper North Fork Grouse Creek Trail is a great local trail. Nearby lakes? Sure, Blue Lake is close to Stampede Lake, and Stampede Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Blue Lake RV Park is a great place to camp nearby. It is very dried up
here at Stampede Lake commonly; most of the rain falls through November; July meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Pack River, and
Deep Creek Campground is a brilliant campground nearby.
So many amusing things to do here at Stampede Lake, too great to be true. There's good hiking along the White Mountain Trail, and the slopes of Schweitzer are so inviting noone can resist.

...bins and covered wagons and Wooden pole tents with wooden floors. We also have internet, movie rentals, and sell propane too. This area has tons of hiking, fishing, hunting and canoing/kayaking in the Kootenai River. The Kootenai Wildlife Refuge is 5 miles away and is great to hike around. We have fishing and swimming in our 3 acre lake and have 2 huge Lakeside Firepits. Some of the sites have BBQs and Picnic Tables and we sell ice, wood, charcoal, pop, snacks and some RV hookup supplies. Here are a couple of great hikes to add to the site:
Snowcreek Falls, Naples, Idaho. Directions: Go north from Sandpoint on Highway 95 to Naples. Turn left on the old highway 95 and go about 5 miles, passing the Deep Creek Inn. You will cross a railroad crossing, keep following the road until you see a brown Forest Service sign on the right hand side of the road. Turn left off of the old highway 95 and follow the road until it turns to dirt and forms a Y intersection. Take forest service road 402, on the left going up the hill for about 2 miles. There is no definite parking lot, just a pull out... |
