Summertime highs at Square Mountain Lake frequently tend to be in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's while Square Mountain Lake night low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Clearwater Mountains, too brilliant to be true. Anchor Meadow is right here at Square Mountain Lake; since you might       be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at close by Twin Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. SUPER 8 MOTEL - GRANGEVILLE is a tremendous spot to get some rest, and there is a delightful hiking trail close by called the Nellie Mountain Trail. But wait, there's more to do close to Square Mountain Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Sourdough Saddle Campground is a perfect spot to camp, and going for a hike on the Pilot Knob Trail is always                  a brilliant adventure. Man, is there a lot of entertaining stuff to do in the Clearwater Mountains. Rocky Bluff Campground is a good campground nearby; on a good day you can take a hike along the Reed Bar Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Soar down the rapids of Clearwater River - South Fork in a kayak, and from Square Mountain Lake you acquire a splendid vista of Sheep Mountain. Not much precipitation falls here at Square Mountain Lake; May is the wettest month with most rain while February is frequently the driest month. Lakes?
